You can reach Muktinath by booking normal flight tickets. First, fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara and stay one night at Pokhara. Then, you can book next morning flight to Jomsom which operates from Pokhara Airport. After reaching Jomsom, drive to Muktinath, then on the next day fly back to Pokhara from Jomsom Airport.

Accommodation

Kathmandu. But the case is different in the case of Beni, Jomsom and Muktinath. Please don’t expect anything fancy as the altitude increases. The hotels in the mountain side are okay. The availability of attached bathrooms are quite common. You will get decent choice in the food items with comfortable room to stay. The lodges, and hotels located are enough to meet your resting requirement.

The weather can be challenging at high altitude, so keep the down jackets handy with you.

Best Season to Travel Muktinath

The best month to travel and experience the unmatched beauty of Muktinath is March, April, May, September, October, November and December. These time awards you the favorable weather and clear view of landscapes and snow-capped mountains and there is very less chance of road obstruction during these times.

Require Travel Permits

If you are Non-Nepali, then you need some special permits to enter Muktinath as Muktinath comes under Annapurna Conservation Area.

Required Permits are:

  1. Annapurna Conservation Area Project Permit(ACAP) : ACAP permit can be received from Nepal Tourism Board office located at Kathmandu or Pokhara
  2. Trekker’s Information Management System Permit (TIMS): TIMS permit can be collected from TAAN office located at Thamel or Mali Gaun, Kathmandu or from TAAN office of Pokhara.

Drive from Kathmandu to Beni which is 9 hour drive and stay overnight at Beni
Drive from Beni to Jomsom which is 6-7 hours. Stay overnight at Jomsom
Drive to Muktinath temple which is 30 minutes from Jomsom and Drive back to Pokhara from Muktinath
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
