Easily the bird watcher’s paradise in Asia, Koshi Tappu Wildlfe Reserve (1996) renders endearing experience when it comes to birdwatching and jungle activities. Lying at southern-eastern Terai and covering the total area of 176sq.km, Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is the home to 290 species of Birds, 27 species of Mammals, and accompanying aquatic creatures. The Reserve was declared Ramsar site in 1987. Reserve was established to protect rare wild water Buffalo (Arna) and has successfully done that with the 150 Arna at the current time.

Koshi Tappu does not disappoint in its offering of activities too. The natural jungle walk with experienced naturalist, is different from what other park renders and can be thoroughly enjoyed. You can best satisfy your mind and body by walking on foot in the reserve. Tiger tracking is another captivating activity to cherish in your memory.

The bird migration that takes place each year during the winter is another sight you simply cannot miss. Moreover, the park renders some of the enriching view of endangered Gangetic Dolphin, Gharial Crocodile, ducks, herons, storks, egrets and ibis. The grasslands, mudflats, numerous water-holes and marshes magnets the bird from other parts of the world too.

The amazing part of wildlife safari in Koshi Tappu is the view of world’s fifth highest mountain, Mt. Makalu (8463M) in a clear day.

The best time to plan the trip to this reserve is from October to May and from September to December as you can enjoy both resident and migratory birds coming from Siberia. Day 1- Arrival

Upon arrival at Kathmandu, Aarya Tara representative will welcome and receive you at airport and will transfer you to hotel. You can roam around the colorful streets of Thamel in the evening or entirely rest at hotel. Dinner and Accommodation.

Day 2- Exploration Day

After having delicious breakfast at hotel, you will be taken to airport or vehicle will receive you at your own hotel. Resort Check in at Koshi Tappu and evening exploration of colorful birds and animals like wild buffalo, crocodiles, dolphins, otters. If you take flight to Biratnagar, you will have more time to explore the reserve. Your evening will be more enjoyable as you will be seeing cultural dance followed by dinner.

Day 3- Bird Watching Day

The third day of your tour is about authentic bird watching experience. Your bird watching will commence in the early morning. You will be engaged in bird watching with experience and expert naturalist. In this day, you will be served the packed lunch. We will be witnessing the birds like Greater Adjutant Stork, Red-necked Falcon, Indian Courser, Lesser Floricans, Spot-billed Pelican, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Faceted Duck and many other. After your extended bird watching time, you can further engage in jeep safari into the woods. You will be witnessing the animals like Gangetic Dolphin, Gharial Crocodile, ducks, herons, storks, egrets and ibis in your jeep safari tour. Dinner and Accommodation in the resort.

Day 4- Departure

After having delicious breakfast, you can fly back to Kathmandu or move towards onward destination.
