Sukhla Phanta Wildlife Reserve lying at south west terai of Nepal covers total area of 305 sq.km and is the home to some of the endangered exotic animals of the planet earth. The reserve has varied altitude ranging from 90m to 270m. The dream of witnessing land mammals, listening to soulful lullaby of birds and roaming in the lap of nature is what you will be rendered in this captivating wildlife safari. The presence of 46 species of mammals including swamp deer, spotted deer, Nilgai, wild dog, jackal, porcupine, royal Bengal tiger, wild elephant, etc. promises to satisfy you. The reserve has large population of swamp deer with the recorded population between 1710-2250.
Moreover, the reserve has largest grassland in Nepal covering the area of 54 sq.km and has the largest breeding population of Bengal Florican and Hispid Hare. The reserve is relatively virgin rendering you the chance to explore and find new species of flora and fauna during you trip to the reserve. The reserve has four seasons including winter, spring, summer and monsoon. The reserve receives annual rainfall of 1579mm from June to September. December and January is relatively cold with temperature of 7-12 degree Celsius.
